About Brock Alston

Brock Alston is a debut novelist whose work explores what the pursuit costs us—careers, places, the quieter parts of ourselves we trade away without noticing—and whether something deeper waits on the other side. He began writing Jetson's Journey before his own move from the Bay Area to Franklin, Tennessee—what started with a job loss slowly revealed itself as something closer to a calling. Jetson's Journey arrives September 15, 2026 from Natchez Press; a second novel, Quota Killer, follows in 2027. He lives in Franklin with his wife, Alison, and a very real dog named Jetson, whose spirit he wrote this book to keep alive on the page long after Jetson is gone from this earth.

About Jetson

Jetson in Franklin

Jetson, a lively black lab, was born on February 4th, 2021, among seven other siblings in a quaint town in the Northern Sacramento Valley known for its peaceful charm and beautiful landscapes. Among Jetson’s litter, six pups were black labs like himself, while only two were sunny yellow.

When he's not chasing after a ball with boundless energy, Jetson loves spending time at the beach. From the moment his paws hit the sand, Jetson is in his element, running and splashing in the waves, and digging to his heart's content.
